White Line: To join the sole to the inner wall of the hoof and to seal off the boarder of the pedal bone.
Bar: An extension of the hoof, which runs along the side of the frog.
Frog: Very important. It allows independent movement at the heels, it also plays a part in protecting the sensitive bones beneath.
Coronary Band: A very tough vascular structure.
Navicular Bone: A bone that prevents over articulation of the pedal bone.
Short Pastern Bone: A bone that sits on the top of the articulating joint, and underneath the long pastern bone.
