Echo was a grey gelding who was a loved and respected member of the Metropolitan Police. He was retired after the 1982 Hyde Park Bombing. Although he survived the blast (which killed four soldiers and seven horses), he suffered scarring and injury due to shrapnel, and had permanent issues with being nervous around traffic, loud noises, and crowds.
In December of 2003, Echo died of colic, and issue that had begun to be quite common for him.
